President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday swore in Ibrahim Tanko as the new acting Chief Justice of Nigeria to replace suspended Justice Walter Onnoghen.
His swearing-in followed Onnoghen’s suspension by the president, who acted based on an order by the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
Onnoghen is currently facing trial at the tribunal for allegedly failing to declare some of his assets when he became Nigeria’s chief justice.
